See all our cloaks - Classic wool cloaks
There are several Viking Age finds of coats. They possibly preferred coats over cloaks.
A hood not only warms the head but also protects the shoulders from cold and rain. Perfect to combine with coats and cloaks
Forget modern synthetic materials. Vikings and medieval people knew that wool is superior in a Nordic climate.
Warms when wet: Unlike cotton or synthetics, wool generates heat even when damp.
Dirt-repellent: The wool fiber naturally repels dirt and odors. Often it is enough to air the garment.
Quiet and compliant: No rustling. Just the weight of quality fabric.

Our most popular model. It is sewn in panels to fall nicely around the shoulders and has a spacious, cozy hood. This is the choice for those who LARP, visit medieval markets, or just want a beautiful, functional cloak that gives the right “Lord of the Rings” feeling.
Variants: Available as full length or shorter Cape (perfect for mobility).
For those seeking historical accuracy. This cloak is a reconstruction of the find from the Bocksten Man (14th century). It has a unique cut (semicircular opening) that makes it lie differently over the shoulders. The obvious choice for historical reenactment.

A cloak is fantastic, but sometimes you need your arms free. The Viking Age coat (inspired by oriental caftans) is the perfect outerwear for the active. Wear it open, or close it with a belt or buckles. It provides warmth over the torso while you have full freedom of movement for crafts or combat.

A cowl or Viking hood is more than just a hat – it is the Middle Ages “scarf and hat” in one. It covers the shoulders and protects the neck from drafts.
Viking hood: Simpler cut, often rounded.
Cowl: Medieval classic with the characteristic long “cowl” (tail) at the back. Available with or without buttons (buttons often signal a slightly later Middle Ages and higher status)
